Celtic writer John McGinley has expressed his shock as a stat on captain Callum McGregor has emerged.
McGregor took over the armband from Scott Brown after the central midfielder left the club last summer, and has led the Bhoys to the brink of the Scottish Premiership title. The 28-year-old has stepped into the breach fantastically, and even won the club’s Player of the Year award earlier this month.
On Twitter, The Celtic Analysis discussed Daizen Maeda, stating that Japan international has made 103 appearances in all competitions since the summer of 2020. The account then compared that number to other Celtic players, and showed that McGregor had appeared for extra 21 games during the same period. McGinley expressed his shock on the social media platform, saying, “McGregor is defo a robot or something.”

Indeed, £6.75m-valued McGregor is one of the most reliable players in Ange Postecoglou’s squad. He has featured in all but five league games this campaign, and missed just one last term. He has evolved into a key player and still has plenty of years left ahead of him.
