Celtic podcaster Ryan Fitzsimons has shared his thoughts on the potential permanent signings of Cameron Carter-Vickers and Jota.

There have been reports suggesting the Bhoys are closing in on the double signing of their loanee additions ahead of the summer transfer window.

Carter-Vickers is set to return to parent club Tottenham Hotspur this summer, however, there is an expectation the American centre-back will put pen to paper on a move to Parkhead.

And the same is expected of the Portuguese winger, Jota, who has, according to reports, been locked in talks to return and play under Ange Postecoglou.

With both deals believed to be closing in on completion, Steven has suggested should either negotiation fall through, it would be through the wrongdoing of the Celtic board.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, he said: “I still think that if anything was going to go wrong in regard to these two signing for Celtic on a permanent basis, it’s going to come from something disastrous at the higher-ups in the hierarchy of the club – which is worrying. I don’t trust them.”

Who would be the more important signing?

TIF Thoughts on Steven’s comments…

It certainly seems as if both players enjoyed their time at Parkhead over the course of the 2021/22 campaign, with both playing big roles in Postecoglou’s side.

Carter-Vickers racked up 46 appearances across all competitions, while Jota made 40 appearances despite picking up an injury over the winter.

So it seems both players would be guaranteed football if they do return for next season, and with talks ongoing, surely it is just down to the Celtic board meeting the demands of the players’ respective parent clubs.

Of COURSE you’d blame the board of the most organized club in Scottish football!
    You always have!
It wouldn’t occur to you that just maybe player or agent expectations are over the top?
