Journalist Pete O’Rourke has claimed that Cameron Carter-Vickers will be happy to stay at Celtic in the summer after spending the season on loan.

Cameron Caret-Vickers has spent the season on loan with Celtic in the Scottish Premiership from Tottenham Hotspur and the clubs are reportedly in advanced talks over a permanent signing for the American defender, ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old central defender has now been on loan to seven different clubs since he came through the youth academy at Spurs, so he might be keen to may a permanent move in the summer.

With Celtic having an impressive season, after winning the Scottish Cup and on the brink of winning the Scottish Premiership, Pete O’Rourke claimed to GiveMeSport that Carter-Vickers may be keen to stay at the club, especially as they will have Champions League football if they win the SPFL.

“It’s still ongoing, this one. Celtic want to get it done and I think Carter-Vickers is quite happy. He’s enjoying his time up at Celtic as well,” O’Rourke said.

TIF Thoughts on Pete O’Rourke’s comments…

Cameron Carter-Vickers has been a standout performer for Celtic this season. In the SPFL he has the third most amount of accurate passes on average per game (79.3), the third most amount of interceptions on average per game (1.2), and the most amount of clearances on average per game (4.2), as per Sofascore.

The American defender may be keen on signing a permanent deal away from Spurs, at a club like Celtic where he can enjoy his football and get regular first team minutes.

If he decided to make a move elsewhere of Celtic, then it would not be likely that they would have Champions League football, so he may be more inclined to stay at the club because of that incentive.
