According to journalist Pete O’Rourke, losing the trio of Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent and Joe Aribo who are threatening to run down their contracts ‘is the last thing the Gers want’ this summer.

The trio of Rangers stars see their deals run out at the end of next season with talks of new ones said to be opening.

Seasoned veterans Allan McGregor, Steven Davis, Connor Goldson and Scott Arfield are set to become free agents with their contracts expiring at the end of June and last week we reported that O’Rourke said the club could be forced to “bite the bullet” and sanction a triple transfer.

Should Rangers sell Morelos?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

Morelos, Kent and Aribo are all aged 25 and are valued at £11.7m, £12.6m and £9m respectively but could walk away for nothing next summer if they are not tied down and O’Rourke believes that it could force Rangers into cashing in when the transfer window opens.

He told GIVEMESPORT:

“The last thing Rangers want to do is see these three players run down their contracts and potentially leave on free transfers because that would cost the club a lot of money as well.

“There is a big summer ahead for the Rangers recruitment team and Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

“Ideally, they would love to keep hold of these players but, if they’re not going to sign new deals, you’ve got no choice but to try and listen to offers for them.”

TIF Thoughts on Rangers…

Between the three of them Morelos, Kent and Aribo have weighed in with 41 goal contributions this season and would leave a huge hole in that department should they leave Ibrox.

How well do you remember where Rangers' signings came in from down the years? Take our quiz to find out! First up, Carlos Pena was the Gers' most expensive arrival during the summer of 2017, but where did he join from?

Although the Light Blues look set to lose their title to arch-rivals Celtic, the triad rank second, third and fourth when it comes to average match rating (WhoScored) behind captain James Tavernier and have played a huge part in the challenge for the Scottish Premiership as well as making it to the Europa League final this season.

A report from the Northern Echo listed Rangers as a potential suitor for Sunderland and former Albion Rovers striker Ross Stewart while German media outlet Frankfurter Rundschau have claimed that the Glasgow outfit have expressed an interest in Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville which would seem to suggest that they are actively hunting for possible replacements should the worst come to fruition.
