Podcaster Ryan McGinlay has hailed Celtic for the early transfer window rumours which seem to suggest the Glasgow club are going about things differently this summer amid their rebuild under Ange Postecoglou.
The Hoops enjoyed a successful resurgence under their Australian boss. They secured their 52nd league title and took back the bragging rights from their bitter city rivals, securing themselves as the dominant force in Scotland.
A big reason for their upturn in form was the recruitment from Celtic’s brass in the last two transfer windows. They bought in 17 new faces to the club, including Joe Hart, Liel Abada, Kyogo Furuhashi, Reo Hatate, Giorgos Giakoumakis, Matt O’Riley, Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Daizen Maeda – all of whom made a huge contribution to their title efforts and played significant minutes throughout the season.
In order for Celtic to continue this rebuild, they will need to recruit well once again, and it seems as if they already have, according to Sky Sports, with reports claiming Celtic are looking to make Carter-Vickers and Jota permanent fixtures at the club as well as providing links to wantaway Manchester City pair Ko Itakura and Taylor Harwood-Bellis.
McGinlay took to Twitter to praise the side for their reported haste in the transfer market, writing: “I hope I’m not being premature here, but it looks as if Celtic have learned their lessons from the past. This is encouraging stuff.”

Celtic have seemingly turned a new page after their disastrous 2020/21 campaign under Neil Lennon, which saw key players like Odsonne Edouard, Kristoffer Ajer, Ryan Christie and Scott Brown all leave the club.
However, they have put themselves in a superior position this summer with the title and Champions League football guaranteed for next season, giving them more pulling power for transfers like Carter-Vickers and Jota, who have both reportedly garnered interest from the Premier League.
It is always going to be a struggle for Celtic to compete with the big boys of the English Premier League and other European giants, but racking up silverware and giving young players a chance will only help their standing in the transfer market, which seems to be paying off already.
