Celtic: Sinclair gushes over Postecoglou’s turnaround

Image for Celtic: Sinclair gushes over Postecoglou’s turnaround

Trevor Sinclair has hailed Celtic for their return to the top of the Scottish Premiership this season under Ange Postecoglou after a disappointing campaign last year.

Speaking on talkSPORT’s breakfast show on Wednesday morning the former England international heaped praise onto the club he supports with the club on the brink of reclaiming the Scottish Premiership title.

Having been halted in their charge for ten in a row last season by Rangers, the Hoops have bounced back this year despite what was suppose to be the start of an “extensive rebuild” as described by their Australian manager when he was first appointed.

A 1-1 draw with their city rivals on Sunday leave the Bhoys six points clear with just three league games left to play.

As uploaded on talkSPORT’s Twitter account Sinclair said

“Celtic is different because it’s not just supporting the football club, it’s about the beliefs that the fans uphold and the club upholds.”

“What a turnaround by the way, you know the amount of points that they lost the league by last season, ten in a row, it was a huge season for them and really disappointing but the way they’ve come back.

“Ange Postecoglou, the recruitment that he has brought in, the way he understands the football club, the way he has come across in the media and the style of football.”

TIF Thoughts on Celtic…

Postecoglou has brought in no fewer than 17 players since his arrival in Glasgow and it is fair to say they have got their recruitment spot on in what has been a resurgent year for the Parkhead club.

Will Celtic sign Carter-Vickers permanently?

Their four highest scorers this season were all brought in, in the summer while Matt O’Riley and the Japanese trio of Daizen Maeda, Yosuke Ideguchi and Reo Hatate all arrived in January to help the club over the finish line.

Former Arsenal and Everton striker, Kevin Campbell hailed the ‘sensational’ recruitment team at Parkhead labelling Riley ‘a really good spot from Celtic’ and the 56-year-old tactician has demonstrated a keen knowledge of the Japanese market given his tenure with Yokohama F. Marinos.

With the club looking set to reclaim their position as number one in Europe and in doing so clinching an automatic Champions League spot it does seem like a great time to be cheering on the boys in green and Sinclair is representative of that.
