Journalist Pete O’Rourke has highlighted that Ola Solbakken would be an exciting signing for Celtic in the summer transfer window.
Solbakken has been linked with a move to Scottish Premiership side Celtic ahead of the summer (via the Daily Record) after he was part of the FK Bodo/Glimt side that knocked the Hoops out of the UEFA Europa Conference League.
The Norwegian striker signed for Bodo in 2020 and has been a mainstay in the side since, he has featured 72 times across all competitions whilst contributing with 17 goals and 18 assists from primarily the right-wing position.
With Solbakken being linked with a move to Celtic Park, O’Rourke highlighted to GiveMeSport that it would be an exciting signing for Ange Postecoglou to make, especially if they qualify for the Champions League.
“It’s got the makings of an exciting signing for Celtic if they do manage to bring him to the club. And Ange Postecoglou will be looking to step up his recruitment plans as soon as possible with potentially Champions League football at Celtic Park next season,” O’Rourke said.

Solbakken has been a standout performer for Bodo this season, especially in the Conference League, he has the second-highest average player rating per game (7.4), he is the club’s top scorer with six goals and he has created the joint-most big chances (3), as per Sofascore.
With Celtic on the brink of qualifying for the Champions League next season, Postecoglou may seek to bring some new talent in the door in the summer, and by signing a player like Solbakken who has proven he can do it on the European stage, he could be a huge asset to their side.
Solbakken is just 23-years-old, so still has plenty of time to develop as a player, and because of the current league that he is playing in, he may not be a player that will cost a lot of money, he has a current market value of just £1.8 million, so would be a great option at that price.
