Wolves captain Conor Coady feels the club had a season to be proud of despite limping over the finish line.
The Old Gold went into the final day in eighth place where they had been placed for most of the campaign, but after seeing their early lead evaporate at Anfield before falling to a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool, other results saw Bruno Lage’s side end up in 10th.

It meant that the Wanderers closed out their campaign on a seven-game winless run and with just five wins in 17 league fixtures since January, having won 10 of their first 21 in a promising first half of the campaign.
However, the club captain is insistent that the season be looked at from an overall perspective as the club improved on their placement in 13th from last term and not to be judged on what could have been but for their faltering climax.
He told the club’s official site: “It’s huge. Huge. Not many people are looking that at the minute, a lot of people are talking about the last few weeks, but the last few weeks have been disappointing. But the whole season needs to be looked at as a whole.
“The season is 38 games and we’ve come into the season when not many people expected us to do so well, but we’ve had to listen to the manager all season and he’s been fantastic, the players have been fantastic and it’s important now we try to use that and move forward as much as we can to get better.”

Nuno Espirito Santo led the pack to back-to-back seventh-place finishes before a disappointing campaign saw them end up in 13th last season. While Lage initially appeared to revitalise the squad, their season did fizzle out.
The 46-year-old will now be tasked with refreshing his team ahead of the new campaign in order to improve the side further.
