BBC Sport contributor Dave Azzopardi has urged Wolves to ‘get the ball rolling’ on a deal for target Palhinha soon.
With the Premier League season now over and June fast approaching, focus in the media will turn to the transfer market.
Indeed, Bruno Lage’s men have already been linked with a move for the Portuguese midfielder, with the Telegraph reporter Mike McGrath recently claiming that an approach has been made for the Sporting man.
With that in mind, Azzopardi has said he is hopeful that an official bid is made this week – and believes the deal is heading in the right direction.
Speaking on the Talking Wolves podcast, he said: “I’m hoping in the next few days or so, we see an official bid made and try and get the ball rolling sooner rather than later on that.
“But things seem to be going in the right direction, and a lot of fairly reputable journalists – not just abroad, but in the UK as well – are pretty confident something behind the scenes is going on there.”
Would Palhinha be a good signing for Wolves?

TIF thoughts on Palhinha and Wolves…
When compared with current Wolves midfielder Joao Moutinho statistically, Palhinha certainly looks as though he could bring something positive to the club if he was to arrive in the summer.
And so, it’s no great surprise to hear Azzopardi urging Bruno Lage’s outfit to get this deal done as soon as possible, instead of leaving it too late. Fortunately, by the sounds of it, that does look to be the most likely outcome.
Having finished 10th last season, Wolves will no doubt hope to improve on that next term. Perhaps Palhinha will be the man to boost the squad just enough to manage that.
