Wolverhampton Wanderers are already looking at the summer transfer window, with Bruno Lage and co putting the time in to get their main targets, with Joao Palhinha on the radar for them as things stand, it’s no surprise with the Portuguese connection at the club.

It has already been reported that discussions over a potential move are well underway. That suggests the interest is serious and providing the two parties can agree on terms, a transfer could be announced sooner rather than later.

Mike McGrath of the Daily Telegraph broke the news that discussions were well underway on Twitter, with the fee being discussed between the clubs already.

Jacque Talbot spoke to GiveMeSport about the potential transfer, going on to say: “I’m told, with Jorge Mendes, it is a similar thing with Darwin Nunez in that he is basically trying to get him a Premier League move now from Portuguese league. He was linked to Manchester United earlier in the season, but I think that was agent generated and more around when they were crying out for that central midfielder. There is probably more chance that they will go for someone like Ruben Neves than him because he is a bit more proven. Yes, I think this could happen, 100 per cent. I would put my house on this one, absolutely.”

TIF thoughts on Jacque Talbot’s comments…

Talbot is clearly very confident that Palhinha will be a Wolves player from next season, risking a house on the move! It certainly sounds from that like an announcement will be imminent, with Wolves getting some business done early.

Do you remember who Wolves signed Ivan Cavaleiro from?

He has had a good season with Sporting Lisbon, playing 38 games including six in the Champions League, so he will be certainly adding experience to the ranks at Molineux after his European outings.
