West Ham United suffered heartbreak in the Europa League on Thursday, falling at the semi-final stage of the secondary European competition after a brilliant run.

It was an uphill battle for the Hammers who came into the tie 2-1 down already after losing at home to the German outfit, Eintracht Frankfurt. The task was made even harder early in the first half as Aaron Cresswell was dismissed.

Can West Ham make the top four next season?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

Rafael Borre scored midway through the first half for Frankfurt and that was enough to see his side knock out David Moyes’ men over the two legs by a 3-1 scoreline.

It took Tomas Soucek till Saturday to voice his disappointment, taking to Instagram with the following post:

The midfielder has played a huge role in West Ham’s recent success having joined last January on an initial loan from Slavia Prague.

However, there have been reports suggesting the 27-year-old has caught the attention of the Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte ahead of the summer window.

TIF thoughts on Soucek’s post…

The fans will love what they’re hearing from the Czech midfielder. Not only is he telling them how much it still hurts to have fallen at the semi-final stage, but he is also conveying his hunger for the remaining three games and the desire to carry on playing European football with the Hammers.

And given the speculation surrounding his future, Hammers fans will be delighted to hear he is already looking ahead to next season at the London Stadium.
