ExWHUemployee has revealed that West Ham United winger Said Benrahma could be out for the season with injury.

Over the weekend, the Hammers thumped Norwich City 4-0 away from home – with the 26-year-old scoring twice. However, the game didn’t pass without some concern for club or player.

Indeed, journalist Roshane Thomas spotted the Algerian walking on crutches after the match, leading to many question marks over his fitness.

Will Said Benrahma be a star West Ham player next season?

At time time, Moyes told club media: “Said’s could have been his ankle – I’ve not had the chance to see it yet – so hopefully they’ll all be okay.”

Now, though, while speaking on The West Way Ham podcast, Ex claimed that the player will have to undergo scans on his ankle before more can be understood.

He said (57:49): “Benrahma is a bit more serious. He left the game with a boot around his ankle, and they’re gonna take scans on him today.

“Obviously, with only two weeks left of the season, whether he’ll play again this season, I’m not sure.

“But the scan results will determine that. And as soon as I actually know the conclusion of that, I shall let everyone know.”

TIF thoughts on Said Benrahma and West Ham…

With no Europa League final to play for, West Ham have just two games to play before their season will be over. With that in mind, even if the ankle injury isn’t that bad, Benrahma may have played his last game this term.

If that is the case, the 26-year-old would be able to reflect on what has been a decent campaign. He has featured often, playing 12 times as the Hammers made it to a European semi final – while scoring 11 goals and adding six assists across all competitions.

With that in mind, fans will certainly be hoping he can feature again in the final weeks of the season – especially as he scored twice against the Canaries last time out.

As Ex explains, though, we will all have to wait for the results of the scan to be made public.
