West Ham Fan TV presenter Dan Lawless was left buzzing after David Moyes’ side were linked with prolonging loanee Alphonse Areola’s stay at the London Stadium.

The Hammers look set to keep Areola at the club next season, as Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that talks are ongoing, with different avenues being explored for the Frenchman.

The transfer expert claims that talks are well underway, with buying the shot-stopper outright for £11m or extending his loan for another season both possibilities at the moment.

Areola has had to settle for a cup ‘keeper role at the Hammers this season, registering 18 appearances in total, with only one of those coming in the Premier League, which was way back in January.

West Ham supporters seem delighted with the news, with Dan Lawless from West Ham Fan TV sharing his thoughts on Twitter, saying: “Great news, Areola has kept us in a lot of cup games this season. He’ll be an excellent [replacement] for Fabianski, get this deal wrapped up quick.”

TIF Thoughts on a potential Alphonse Areola move…

Areola has clearly impressed in the cup competitions if David Moyes and co are already trying to bring him in for next season before the current campaign has even finished.

Lukasz Fabianski is now 37 years old and his contract is up in the summer, although it is rumoured he will be extending his stay with the Hammers, so Areola will potentially have to continue as his understudy. However, to get a replacement familiar and comfortable at the club before he does move on is good business from the Hammers.
