Insider ExWHUemployee has revealed that West Ham United have an interest in signing left-back Owen Wijndal.
The club’s Europa League dream came to an end recently at the hands of Eintracht Frankfurt. However, things may have been a little different had Aaron Cresswell been a little more disciplined.
Indeed, the defender picked up a red card, which was a key factor in West Ham losing the tie. Considering he had also been sent off against Lyon in the quarter-final, his displays may have left some supporters pretty exasperated.
Do West Ham need a new left-back signing this summer?
Yes
No
With that in mind, it may be of interest to hear that the club look to be targeting a new full-back in the summer. Indeed, while talking on The West Ham Way podcast, Ex claimed that AZ Alkmaar defender Wijndal is someone the club are ‘very keen on’.
He said: “In terms of left-backs – we are looking at left-backs as well – one guy we are very keen on is a guy called Owen Wijndal of AZ in Holland.
“He is a Dutch international. He has got a lot of potential, he’s quite highly rated, he’s someone we’ve looked at.”
