Insider ExWHUemployee has revealed that West Ham United have an interest in signing Eddie Nketiah when his contract runs out.

In their most recent Premier League outing, the Hammers lost 2-1 at home to Arsenal. While that result may have been a disappointment, the club may be able to take one benefit from it going forward.

Indeed, opponent forward Nketiah impressed for the Gunners – getting a 7.8 match rating on SofaScore – and may have done enough to tempt David Moyes into making a move for the Arsenal man.

The 22-year-old will see his contract come to an end this summer and the current understanding is that he will not remain in north London to renew his term..

While talking about the player on The West Ham Way podcast, Ex claimed that West Ham are continuing to monitor the situation.

He explained (54:38): “He had pace and he bothered our defence quite a bit [on the weekend]. And I think if he’s young, he is someone that we could develop further.

“We are monitoring wherever he signs a new deal, apparently Arsenal are gonna make another attempt to get him to sign a contract.”

TIF thoughts on Eddie Nketiah and West Ham..

Despite Ex claiming that Arsenal are keen to get Nketiah, who is valued at £9 million (as per Transfermarkt), tied down to a new contract, journalist Charles Watts has claimed that the player and his agent have made up their minds already and will leave this summer.

While the player had a slow start to the season in terms or regular Premier League game time, he has become a key player for the Gunners of late, starting the past four games, scoring twice, and impressing against the likes of West Ham.
