Tottenham Hotspur are going into this summer’s transfer window with Victor Osimhen on their shortlist of potential options at striker.

This has been reported by Alasdair Gold, who was speaking about all things transfer-related at the north London club on his latest YouTube video.

Spurs will now be going into the transfer window with an extra £150m at the disposal of Antonio Conte after the club’s owners announced an ambitious injection of funds on Tuesday.

And one of the players who could well be purchased with Conte’s warchest is the Napoli striker, who has had an impressive season in Serie A.

Gold believes he is on Fabio Paratici’s list alongside a number of other strikers, as Conte demands the club find sufficient backup for Harry Kane heading into the new campaign.

Gold said: “I know they like – I’m gonna get his name right, I wrote it down – Victor Osimhen from Napoli. I know they liked him when he was at Lille. Obviously, he’s gone to Napoli and he’s done very well there. [They’ve] kept an eye on him, I think he’s got 18 goals in [32] matches for Napoli.”

TIF Thoughts on Gold’s comments…

It has been an impressive campaign for the 23-year-old, who has netted 14 times and provided five assists in Serie A this season (via Transfermarkt).

And Osimhen, who has been labelled as a ‘complete’ player by his own manager, showed he is able to do it on the European stage – albeit in the Europa League – with four goals in the five appearances made in the second-tier European competition.

At just 23 years old, it could prove to be a beneficial move for Osimhen, who would have the opportunity to learn from one of the best strikers in the game in Kane.

Although he would likely have to play as a backup striker, Kane’s injury record would suggest an opportunity could easily arise and it is apparent Conte wants a senior striker to call upon from the bench.

And it sounds as if Spurs have had their eyes on the £54m-rated ace for a number of years, so you would imagine they will have enough evidence by now to make a good judgment on whether he could be the man they need.

One player who Osimhen will already be familiar with is Cristian Romero, who the striker described as one of the toughest players he has ever played against.
