TalkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan has said he can see Tottenham Hotspur winning a trophy under Antonio Conte.

The former football club owner was speaking on the TalkSport YouTube channel about who he believes has the best shot at success between Spurs, Arsenal and Manchester United.

Do you think Conte will guide Spurs to silverware?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Spurs go into the final game of the campaign with Champions League football a huge possibility with just one point needed against already-relegated Norwich City.

Regardless of the game on Sunday, Spurs are guaranteed to finish ahead of the Red Devils with just their bitter rivals able to replace them in the illustrious fourth spot.

With the Italian having turned around the north Londoners’ fortunes since arriving in November, Jordan believes he will taste success with Spurs.

He said: “If I were going to look at it and say what success is, Tottenham winning something during the next five years under Conte – if he’s there that long – I think is likely to happen.

“I think given the fact that Tottenham haven’t won anything for 14 years, then that will be the success that I’ve been most expecting.

“I just think the other successes were all relative. United’s success levels, like I’ve told you before, are very different to Tottenham’s. So I’m going to say Conte and Tottenham – if Conte stays.”

TIF Thoughts on Jordan’s comments…

Spurs have now gone 14 years without getting their hands on silverware, with the 2008 League Cup the last trophy lifted by the Lilywhites.

And the Italian manager has won silverware at just about every club he has managed and even got his hands on the Serie A title just last season with Inter.

However, this was also the case for Jose Mourinho and he departed without lifting a trophy – albeit he was sacked before the League Cup final.

Conte has got Spurs firing in the right direction, so we will be interested to see what he can do in N17 next season after a summer transfer window to put his stamp on the squad.
