Sergio Reguilon has dropped a hint on Instagram that he is going to stay at Tottenham Hotspur, despite rumours of him leaving.

Reguilon signed for Spurs in 2020 and has gone on to make 67 appearances in all competitions across the two seasons he has been at the club, while his current contract is not set to expire until 2025.

However, the Spanish left-back has been linked with a move away, with Real Madrid having a buy-back clause worth £27.5m and Barcelona also showing interest in his services ahead of the summer transfer window.

Reguilon was injured for the final few games of the season, but before this, he was somewhat out of favour under Antonio Conte – the last time he was fit enough to be named in the squad, he was an unused substitute.

Despite the links of a move away from Spurs, Reguilon’s latest post on Instagram could be an indication that he is will be remaining at the club.

The defender wrote: “Back in @championsleague,” which may suggest he is looking forward to playing in the Champions League with Spurs, with the Lilywhites securing qualification on the final day.

Will Reguilon leave Spurs?

TIF Thoughts on Reguilon…

Reguilon has been out of form this season for Spurs in the Premier League. He is ranked 12th in terms of average player rating (6.92), he had the 14th-most accurate passes per game (24.3) and made the ninth-most interceptions per game (1.6), as per SofaScore.

With the relatively poor stats of Reguilon this season, if a suitable bid comes in for him in the summer, Antonio Conte may be open to selling him and looking for a better replacement.

However, his latest Instagram post may be an indication that he is keen to stay at the club, especially with the club competing in the top European competition next season, but time will tell if Conte believes he is good enough.

I’m pleased he says he’s staying, because he isn’t allowed to leave..Watching opponents try to catch him is like watching the Roadrunner Cartoon!
