Tottenham Hotspur are looking to bring in five or six players this summer who will be viewed to slot straight into the starting XI.

This is according to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge who has been speaking on Matt Hayes’ YouTube channel to discuss the upcoming transfer window.

Reports have suggested Antonio Conte is looking for the north London club to make six additions this summer having seen Spurs to a top-four finish.

With Champions League football now to contend with, a big summer lies ahead for the north London club and the £150m investment from ENIC will certainly provide a huge boost.

And it is apparent Bridge believes there is a huge emphasis on Conte wanting to dramatically improve the quality of the squad after a message he recently received:

(35:00) “The messages I’ve got over the last few days, the five or six they want to bring in are going to be first-team players that go into that first team.”

Will Spurs end their trophy drought next season?

TIF Thoughts on Bridge’s comments…

This will be a massive boost for Spurs fans with a clear lack of quality available from their bench this season which often led to U23 players filling in the numbers.

So having five or six new starting XI quality players could instantly demote some of the current group to the bench – instantly providing Conte with options from his bench.

And with so many games to contend with next season and the new five substitutes rule, this could be a huge boost for Spurs going into the new campaign.
