Tottenham Hotspur kept the pressure on in the hunt for Champions League qualification, breezing past a sorry Leicester City side at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

However, it seemed not all of Antonio Conte’s men put on a show in N17 with Alasdair Gold being left far from impressed with the display of Lucas Moura.

Harry Kane opened the scoring after 22 minutes, before a brace from Son Heung-Min put the game to bed, three goals and three points were secured for Conte’s side.

It wasn’t the complete performance though, with Kelechi Iheanacho bagging a consolation for Brendan Rodgers’ side in stoppage time.

Following the full-time whistle, Gold shared his frustrations with Moura in his player ratings, giving the Brazilian 4/10, justifying his rating with: “Poor first half from the Brazilian as he gave the ball away on a number of occasions. Sent a header over from Sessegnon’s cross late in the half. Hooked just 10 minutes into the second half.”

TIF thoughts on Gold’s comments…

He certainly was far from his best and the difference in the Spurs attack when he was subbed off for Dejan Kulusevski was noticeable, with the Swede assisting both of Son’s goals.

How many times did Mido score for Spurs in the 2006/07 season?

In the 55 minutes Moura played, he made little impact. He only had 24 touches of the ball and lost possession a whopping 10 times. He attempted three dribbles too, but all were unsuccessful, so it was no surprise to see him hooked early in the second period.

It has been a difficult campaign for the 29-year-old in North London with just two goals to show in the Premier League and the game on Sunday was his first start since February (via Transfermarkt).

And with his performances clearly not improving, it does make us wonder whether he could see his future at Spurs put in doubt ahead of the summer with just two years left on his deal?
