Journalist Jacque Talbot has claimed that Djed Spence is on the Tottenham Hotspur wishlist ahead of the summer transfer window.
There have been reports that Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Spence in the summer, but they may face competition from fellow Premier League side Brentford, who are also reportedly interested in signing the young full-back.
Spence has spent this season on loan with Nottingham Forest from Middlesbrough. The 21-year-old featured 42 times in the Championship during their promotion-winning campaign as they beat Huddersfield Town in the play-off final.
With Spence returning to his parent club, Talbot spoke to GiveMeSport and said that he is ‘definitely on Spurs’ list’ ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
Speaking prior to the victory at Wembley last weekend, Talbot said: “He’s definitely on Spurs’ list, but I don’t think they’re frontrunners, no one is a frontrunner at this point. Loads of people like him, he’s been focusing on the [Championship play-off] final, then he will make a decision for whoever comes in with the most ambitious offer.”

Former Nottingham Forest academy boss Nick Marshall even called Djed Spence a ‘revelation’, as well as comparing him to Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Spence has been a standout performer for Forest this season in the Championship, as he created the fourth-most big chances for his side (6), had the fourth-most interceptions per game (1.5) and had the third-most successful dribbles per game (1.8), as per SofaScore.
The 21-year-old was also named in the EFL Sky Bet Championship Team of the Season, so it may be considered unlikely he will remain with Middlesbrough in the Championship next season, especially with high-calibre clubs in the top flight showing interest.
Spurs may be able to lure Spence to the club with the chance to not only play in the Premier League but also the Champions League, however, due to his lack of experience, he may not feature regularly, so the young wing-back may opt to move somewhere he can guarantee first-team football.
