Tottenham Hotspur are still in the race for Ivan Perisic this summer, with the Croatian still yet to make a decision over his future.

Football journalist Fabrizio Romano has been speaking on his Here We Go podcast to discuss where the 33-year-old’s future may lie.

Who would you prefer this summer?

Reports from Italy (via SempreInter) have suggested Perisic is close to extending his stay at the San Siro, having entered talks with Inter over a new deal.

However, Romano does not believe these reports are accurate, with the Croat receiving interest from both Spurs and Chelsea ahead of the summer window.

Perisic has built up a wealth of experience over the years during his time across some of Europe’s biggest leagues, and it seems he is taking his time to consider what his next move may be.

Romano said: “Someone in Italy is saying that he has already done his contract extension with Inter, this is not true. Perisic has still no agreement with any club. This is important to say.

“He had the meeting, his agents had a meeting with Inter on Monday. In this meeting, Inter improved their proposal to extend Ivan Perisic’s contract, but there is still no green light from the player, and there are approaches from the Premier League.

“We know that Tottenham are interested in Ivan Perisic, and also Chelsea since January with Thomas Tuchel, who is big fan, but also Tottenham.

“So Tottenham and Chelsea are waiting for Perisic to decide. He has a proposal from Inter on the table. And so it’s now up to Ivan Perisic.”

TIF Thoughts on Romano’s comments…

This will certainly be positive news to Spurs fans who may feel the 33-year-old would be the perfect addition for Ryan Sessegnon to learn from at left wing-back.

With his contract set to run out in the coming weeks, Perisic would obviously save Spurs from dipping into their transfer budget, however, are there better options out there?

Filip Kostic is also believed to be on Tottenham’s radar this summer, and with a reported fee of £25m needed to secure his services, this may be a better long-term deal for Spurs to chase.

That poll up there… It’s a no brainer. Kostic at 29 can get even better under Conte.. Perisic though is older than Bale!
