Tottenham Hotspur are awaiting the response of Ivan Perisic on his future with Inter before making their move this summer.

This is what the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has suggested on his latest YouTube video when discussing the north London club’s transfer plans.

Recent reports claim the Serie A side have offered the Croatian a new deal to keep him at the San Siro but he has proposals from the Premier League.

Romano believes the Serie A giants held their meeting with Perisic on Monday and are still waiting on his decision but some Italian reports (via Express) suggest he is tempted by a possible move to England.

Do you want Perisic to join Spurs?

Yes

Yes

No

No

And having spent two seasons with Inter having joined from Bayern Munich, Romano had the following to say on where his future may lie:

“Ivan Perisic is a player that Tottenham want. Inter are waiting for his official decision. They had a meeting with the player on Monday, they made a proposal €5m net per season.

“Inter are waiting for Ivan Perisic to answer, but Tottenham are waiting too because they want Ivan Perisic. So keep an eye on that one because Tottenham are really, really interested in Perisic. Of course, Antonio Conte is a manager who knows him so well.”

TIF Thoughts on Romano’s comments…

Interestingly, during Inter’s win over Hellas Verona earlier this season Perisic was heavily praised by the Italian press, with Corriere dello Sport stating that “he presses like Superman, Inter cannot lose him.”

We think Perisic is a player who would bring a lot of experience to the Spurs side and would likely be a better option than what Antonio Conte has at his disposal.

Perisic provided eight goals and seven assists in Serie A this season having played the majority of the campaign in the left wing-back position (via Transfermarkt).

However, we think Filip Kostic is the man Spurs should be pushing the boat out to get. The Serbian has had a stunning 2021/22 campaign and at 29-years-old has an extra few years in him than Perisic.
