Tottenham Hotspur have identified Inter ace Ivan Perisic as a possible target for this summer’s transfer window.

This has been suggested by Alasdair Gold, who was discussing his expectations for the upcoming transfer market on his latest YouTube video.

Who would you prefer Spurs sign?

There have been reports recently suggesting Inter are holding further talks with the Croatian, whose deal with the Serie A side is set to expire in the coming weeks.

However, Gold believes the north London club have the 33-year-old on their radar, with the converted wing-back previously playing under the current Spurs manager.

Over 42 appearances under Conte, Perisic was able to provide five goals and five assists across all competitions, and the possible free agent is believed to be an option for Fabio Paratici this summer.

Gold said: “We know Spurs like Ivan Perisic, we know they like him. They’ve liked him for a long time and Conte obviously knows him very well.

“And if he feels that he can play as a wing-back as well, which I think he did – I think Conte pretty much turned him into one, didn’t he? I think so.

“So in that case, if he were to come in, and if he were to not sign a new contract with Inter, I think he would be a free transfer as well. So I think you get that done, don’t you, if you can do the deal.”

TIF Thoughts on Gold’s comments…

We do feel left wing-back should definitely be one of the main areas targeted to improve in the summer window with Sergio Reguilon reported as a potential departure.

Perisic could be an attractive option for Spurs if he does become a free agent coming off an impressive season where he netted eight times and provided seven assists for Inter in Serie A (via Transfermarkt).

However, there have also been links to Filip Kostic, who had a sensational run in the Europa League for Eintracht Frankfurt this season and could provide Spurs with a slightly younger option than the World Cup finalist.

It will be interesting to see who Spurs look to land this summer, but we do feel either could improve the starting XI with Ryan Sessegnon still developing his game at just 22 years old.
