Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini has become one of the most popular member of the squad despite the expectation he’ll return from his loan.
This has been suggested by the Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge who revealed on Matt Hayes’ YouTube channel what one of the Spurs players had told him about the Italian.
Reports suggest the north London club are set to make their first signing of the summer in the coming days with Fraser Forster undergoing his medical at Hotspur Way on Wednesday.
With this in mind, it appears Gollini’s time at Spurs is coming to an end having joined the club last summer on loan from the Serie A side, Atalanta.
However, it is apparent the 27-year-old has made an impression on those at Spurs with the Italian becoming one of the most popular characters in the dressing room:
“It’s funny as well, talk about Gollini. I can’t remember who told me this, it might have been a player. He’s the most popular player in the dressing room. But, that doesn’t really matter on the pitch does it?”
Who'd you prefer at Spurs?
TIF Thoughts on Bridge’s comments…
It can be seen through the footage released by Spurs following the victory over Norwich City that Gollini is still very much a part of the squad despite his lack of game time.
However, it comes as quite a surprise that he is apparently so popular and influential as since Conte arrived, the 27-year-old has only made three appearances for Spurs with the last time he took to the pitch being back in January.
Gollini can be seen as one of the big characters in the current crop of Spurs players, however, unfortunately, it has just not worked out for him on the pitch.
