Tottenham Hotspur’s recently announced injection of £150m from the club’s owners will predominantly be spent on transfers.

This is what Alasdair Gold has suggested on his YouTube channel in the wake of what was a huge sign of support for the north London club’s manager, Antonio Conte.

The Italian’s future has been questioned in recent months, however, reports would suggest the Spurs board are so confident of his position at the club, Daniel Levy will not attend the upcoming meeting to discuss it.

Spurs sneaked into the final four in the final week of the 2021/22 campaign, finishing two points ahead of Arsenal, and a big cash boost this summer appears to be in the hope of pulling closer to the leading pack.

Do you expect Spurs to go big this summer?

No

With a huge 22-point gap to the champions, Gold believes ENIC’s £150m investment will primarily be spent on Fabio Paratici and Conte improving the squad at Hotspur Way.

He said: “All we should really care about – the fans, and myself reporting on it all – is that the bulk of that £150m is going to go towards the summer transfer warchest.

“I know it said in the statement – which I’m going to read out so we have all the technical stuff – I know it said it will go towards on pitch and off-pitch stuff. But I’m told the bulk of that – pretty much all of it – is going on transfers.”

TIF Thoughts on Gold’s comments…

This is incredibly exciting news for Spurs fans, with the notion of this not only being the available funds for the summer, with player sales and Champions League money also potentially available.

It was a sensational end to the campaign for Spurs on the pitch, and it seems this is being translated off it, with the board showing big aspirations ahead of the transfer window.

However, there will still be a long way to go to keep Conte happy, with a big proportion of the squad needing to be upgraded, according to reports, meaning Spurs will need to replicate their January window successes but on a bigger scale.
