Tottenham Hotspur were worried about what fans would see at half-time during the altercation inside the tunnel against Burnley.

This has been highlighted by Alasdair Gold, who was speaking about the incident on his latest YouTube video after Tottenham’s win at the weekend.

Did Burnley have a right to be angry?

Mike Jackson’s side entered the break incensed by the decision to award Spurs a penalty just before the whistle, which Harry Kane converted and ultimately sealed the points.

It was apparent that Antonio Conte had found himself involved in the argument over the decision before the half-time whistle, which continued into the tunnel.

And Gold believes the club frosted over the glass of the ‘Tunnel Club’ so fans were unable to see the altercation, with fear over what may have potentially unfolded.

He said: “If you’re not aware of what the Tunnel Club is, it’s one of those swanky, very luxurious areas that you might have heard me talk about when I spoke about the H Club. And the key feature of it is it’s got a ceiling-to-floor glass wall, essentially, where you can see what’s going on in the tunnel. You can see the players going off and into the match, you see them coming in.

“But they do also have a switch, which when they press it, frosts up the glass so you can’t see what happens – and I’m told that happened on Sunday, because they were a little bit worried about maybe what might be seen.”

TIF Thoughts on Gold’s comments…

We still find it difficult to understand the frustrations over the penalty decision, with Ashley Barnes’ arm clearly in an unnatural position.

And it was apparent those frustrations carried over into the tunnel, with footage showing the two sides coming together in a heated half-time debate.

However, it shows the extent of the frustrations seen in the tunnel if the club felt the need to prevent the fans from watching from their seats – which are believed to have a £30k joining fee for two members.
