Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to have a huge summer transfer window to build on a successful start to life under Antonio Conte who has guided them back to the Champions League, with Man City’s Raheem Sterling a potential candidate.

The Telegraph have claimed that Spurs will make six signings this summer in order to appease Conte and persuade him to carry on the project at Spurs. They claim that Conte would be interested in signing Sterling should the opportunity arise.

Transfer insider Dean Jones believes that the move would appeal to both parties and could certainly be on the cards. Talking to GiveMeSport, Jones said: “If he was going to go anywhere else, you’d imagine there might be some appeal to go back to London, where he grew up. I can see why it might be one that comes on the radar for both parties.”

TIF thoughts on Dean Jones’ comments…

Interestingly, Sky Sports valued Raheem Sterling at £150m back in 2019 and the likes of Frank Lampard and Rio Ferdinand both praised him last year for his efforts.

You can’t argue with the logic of Jones, it’s clear to see why a move back to the capital could appeal to Raheem Sterling who is entering the final 12 months of his contract with the current champions of England.

How well do you know where these Spurs signings came from? Take our quiz to find out! Firstly, where did Dimitar Berbatov arrive from?

He did play 47 times for City last term, so was clearly a key component of Pep Guardiola’s side retaining the Premier League title. However, that doesn’t mean there’s no chance of a move, he might want a new challenge and City might want to avoid losing him on a free in a years time.
