Alasdair Gold has pointed out a perhaps unseen moment during Tottenham Hotspur’s latest victory that saw Cristian Romero give Antonio Conte a scare on the sidelines.

Tottenham hotspur recorded a very comfortable 3-1 win at home to Leicester City on the weekend that saw bring an end to their two-game winless run that also coincided with them failing to register a shot on target against either Brighton or Brentford.

Have you been impressed by Romero this season?

One of the more impressive performances came from summer signing Cristian Romero who put in a sequence of crunching tackles which led to the hosts’ second goal of the day and was afforded a 10/10 player rating by Alasdair Gold.

However, it wasn’t all perfect though with the journalist pointing out the moment in which he gave Conte a scare in the dugout, he said:

‘Romero was then involved in another worrying defensive moment towards the end of the first half with a pass that sold Eric Dier short inside his own box. Thankfully the long-serving centre-back was quick to react and booted the ball away from danger before it was intercepted.

The moment didn’t go down well with Conte, though, as he held his arms out wide to question what on earth was going on before then walking back to the bench complaining about the incident. It certainly did give him a bit of a scare, and he wasn’t impressed about it at all.’

TIF Thoughts on Romero…

The Argentine centre back put in an utterly dominant display on Sunday afternoon completing the third-most passes in the Spurs side, tackled the most players and progressed the ball forward the most out of anyone by some distance within the Tottenham side.

Gold has relayed information that Romero is also now trying to become a bigger presence in the dressing room by speaking to more players, even though his English is still seemingly lacking which just goes to show his commitment to the cause and club.
