Speaking on the Chasing Green Arrows YouTube channel, Dean Jones has claimed Son Heung-min won’t be on penalties for Tottenham Hotspur this weekend despite the South Korean chasing the Golden Boot.

Tottenham players and fans will have been watching Monday Night Football with keen interest this week as their top-four rivals travelled to Newcastle United and fell to a 2-0 defeat, meaning that finishing fourth was now in Spurs’ hands.

Will Son win the Golden Boot?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

While the main goal for Spurs is to have Champions League football at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next season, some players will have personal aims and goals to fulfil on Sunday – none more so than Son, who is in the running for this season’s Golden Boot, heading into the game just one strike behind Mohamed Salah.

Despite being so close to topping the goalscoring charts without being on penalty duty all season, when asked if Harry Kane would give Son a penalty if Spurs are winning, Jones wasn’t convinced.

He said: “No, probably not. I’m not convinced he will at all, I was talking about it to someone earlier and I was like, I don’t know if he will, you know, Kane just likes to bury those.”

How well do you know where these Spurs signings came from? Take our quiz to find out! Firstly, where did Dimitar Berbatov arrive from?

It would be a sensational achievement for Son to win the Golden Boot despite having not scored a single penalty all season – in comparison to Salah, who’s netted five spot-kicks during the campaign.

Given how well Kane and Son work together on the pitch with assisting each other, it would be surprising to see if the striker didn’t hand the ball to Son and allow him the chance to slot home from the penalty spot if Spurs are already winning and comfortable in the game against Norwich City.
