Podcaster Simeon Daniel has claimed that it would make the most sense for Denzel Dumfries to join Spurs in the summer transfer window.

Inter Milan are reportedly willing to sell Denzel Dumfries in the summer transfer window if the price is right, and Premier League side Spurs lead the race to sign him. Dumfries signed from PSV Eindhoven just last summer, and his contract is not set to expire until 2025.

Spurs currently have a difficult situation at the right-wing back spot, Matt Doherty was just picking up form, but he was injured and sidelined for the rest of the season, and Emerson Royal has been somewhat a flop.

Due to the links Dumfries is set to move to Spurs, Simeon Daniel spoke on the WeAreTottenhamTV YouTube channel and claimed that the club would make the most sense for the Dutch right-back due to the formation that Conte plays.

“I think Spurs makes the most sense at the moment as to where he would go,” Daniel said.

“Manchester United’s also a decent [suggestion]. But I think the way we play would suit him the most. So I think as well playing for Conte’s former club, he’s been a good deputy for Achraf Hakimi who was there under Conte.”

Do you think Dumfries would be a good signing?

TIF Thoughts on Simeon Daniel’s comments…

Dumfries has been somewhat out of favour this season for Inter Milan, although he has featured 30 times in the league with just 19 of those having been starts.

When he has played, he has been out of form, in Serie A for his side, he has the 17th highest average player rating (6.84), he is ranked 13 in terms of the average amount of tackles per game (0.9), and is ranked 5th in terms of the number of times he has lost possession on average per game (9.3), as per SofaScore.

Spurs signed Emerson from Barcelona at the start of the season, but he has the 14th highest average player rating per game (6.86), so Conte may be looking to get a new right-back in the door, so Dumfries may be a good option for him, due to things not working out in Italy and him seeking a new challenge.
