Journalist Dean Jones has claimed that Christian Eriksen returning to Spurs would be a perfect fit if they get Champions League.

Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in bringing Eriksen back to the club in the summer, and Antonio Conte may look to use his connections with the Danish midfielder from their time together at Inter Milan, to lure him into the club.

Eriksen has spent the second half of the season with Brentford, where he has made 10 appearances in the Premier League whilst scoring once and assisting four times.

With Eriksen’s contract expiring with the Bees at the end of the season, Jones spoke to GiveMeSport and highlighted that it would be a great opportunity for Conte to bring him back to the club, especially if they qualify for the Champions League.

“He would have interest in going back to Tottenham, and Tottenham do have a desire to bring him back if they do qualify for the Champions League, so it seems like a no-brainer,” Jones said.

TIF Thoughts on Jones’s comments…

Interestingly, Conte has already given a sort of green light to a potential deal for the midfielder who was described as ‘unbelievable’ by Thomas Frank earlier on this season.

Eriksen has shown what he can do for Brentford back in the Premier League since January, he has the highest average player rating at the club (7.59), he has the most key passes on average per game (2.7) and he has the most amount of successful passes on average per game (40.4), as per Sofascore.

If Spurs can acquire his services next season then it would be a huge signing for Conte, not only because of his form this season but also because of his experience in the Champions League that he adds to the squad.

With the impressive form of Eriksen, this may mean that Spurs will have competition for his signature, but his connection with Conte and previous experiences with the club, this may persuade him to join them.
