Journalist Alex Crook has claimed that due to there being nobody to communicate with at Chelsea, their pursuit to sign Armando Broja could be stalled.
Broja has spent this season on loan at Southampton from Thomas Tuchel’s side and has featured 32 times in the league this season, with 21 of those being from the start, whilst scoring six goals.
Due to the Albanian forward featuring regularly for the Saints this season, they may attempt to sign him on a permanent deal in the summer, but they face competition from West Ham United, who are also reportedly interested in his signature ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
Whilst speaking with GiveMeSport, Crook has claimed that the Saints may be interested in keeping him for another year – but has highlighted an issue standing in their way.
He said: “Obviously, it’s clouded at Chelsea because there’s no one there to deal with at the moment. I know Southampton have had that problem with Armando Broja.
“They would like to keep him for another year, but they don’t actually know who they should be speaking to about doing that, so that clouds the issue.”

TIF Thoughts on Crook’s comments…
Broja impressed last season on loan with Vitesse Arnhem when he scored 10 goals in 30 league games, and Chelsea opted to send him out on loan again this season to Southampton, where he is the club’s third-highest scorer with six goals in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, his assistant manager at international level, Sergio Porrini, has labelled the youngster as ‘devastating‘.
Southampton may be interested in getting Broja in the door for at least another season on loan as he has been a good option in attack for them this campaign, but with the sanctioning of owner Roman Abramovich, this may prove to be a hard task.
With the deal appearing difficult to pursue, Southampton may have to look elsewhere for someone to replace Broja, but Ralph Hasenhuttl would surely do everything he can to get the 20-year-old at St Mary’s for at least another season based on this year’s exploits.
