Allan Saint-Maximin has sent a message to Newcastle United fans while dropping a positive hint on his future with the club.

During Newcastle United’s very impressive run of form under Eddie Howe, it’s safe to say that Saint-Maximin has not been at his best, managing just one goal in his last 14 league outings, although that hasn’t stopped the manager from trusting him, with the winger starting 13 of the last 16 matches he’s been available for.

Would you sell Saint-Maximin?

However, despite Howe’s clear faith and trust in Saint-Maximin, there have been reports that he could be sold this summer to help bolster the club’s reported £60m budget, and that take will have only increased when he made comments about having more assists if only he had better teammates around him.

Following the final home game of the season for Newcastle, Saint-Maximin took to Instagram to address the fanbase, saying: “What a way to finish the season with this last win at home. Thanks to everyone for your incredible support. The best is yet to come.”

How well do you remember Newcastle's January transfer window? An easy one to start with: where did Newcastle sign Bruno Guimaraes from?

This post is pretty telling from the French winger, claiming that ‘the best is yet to come’ accompanied by a video of him playing for Newcastle, suggesting that his best will presumably come while donning the famous black and white shirt.

It would likely be a bold move for Howe and PIF to sanction the sale of the player who’s created the most shooting opportunities this campaign (FBRef), as well as being one of the few players Gary Neville – one of England’s best-ever right-backs – has claimed he would’ve hated to play against because of his skills and unpredictability.
