Isaac Hayden has sent a moving message on Instagram to Newcastle United fans as his future remains doubtful on Tyneside.

Hayden has been a solid player for the Magpies since he was signed for what now appears to be a bargain fee of just £2.61m, having won the Championship title in 2017 and racked up a very impressive 171 appearances across all competitions.

The midfielder appeared to finally find a home on Tyneside after experiencing a loan stint with Hull City during his time on the books at Arsenal, but he has now been tipped for a summer exit which looks increasingly likely considering that he wasn’t even named in Eddie Howe’s Premier League squad for the second half of the season.

It appears that Hayden has already begun his farewells as he sent Newcastle fans a message after their final win of the season on Instagram, saying:

“Personally my toughest season in professional football for numerous reasons but I’ve learned a lot and everything happens for a reason. Thank you for your support over the season and for the last 6 years it’s been incredible in moments of darkness and success.”

How well do you remember Newcastle's January transfer window? An easy one to start with: where did Newcastle sign Bruno Guimaraes from?

It will be an emotional one for Hayden if he does leave, having been a big part of the Newcastle sides that managed to fight off relegation when it looked difficult under the ownership of Mike Ashley and after seeing the club being purchased by PIF, ensuring they remained a top-flight side.

Hayden will likely have a lot of suitors in the summer considering his experience in both the Premier League and Championship, and given the tough times he’s gone through off the pitch when his child was born, he will likely leave with only good wishes from people at the club and the fanbase.
