Fabrizio Romano has been speaking about Newcastle United’s interest in Raphinha on The Action Network YouTube channel.
It seems likely that it’s going to be a very exciting and busy summer transfer window for Newcastle as they are tipped to bring in between four and six new players while a whole load are going to be up for sale, such as Jamaal Lascelles and Matt Ritchie.

There will not be much of a shock for Magpies fans to see a lot of players tipped to leave the club as they still have eight players on their books that helped them win the Championship back in 2017, so a refresh is certainly required to take that next step.
One player Romano claims they’ve been tracking for a long time is potentially soon to be relegated Raphinha, he said:
(12:46) “A player they love is Raphinha from Leeds, we know that Barcelona are leading the race to sign him but Newcastle have been exploring this possibility for a long time, but they know that it’s going to be more than complicated because Barcelona are already in advanced talks.”

It would be a very audacious move for Newcastle to sign one of the best wingers in the league this season with Raphinha having netted 10 goals, putting him level with Jarrod Bowen and only one strike behind Bukayo Saka and Riyad Mahrez.
while Barcelona have been credited with an interest in Raphinha for a long time and Romano claims they’re in advanced talks, the potential to be one of the leading stars and a regular under Eddie Howe while remaining in the Premier League could be a big pulling factor that the Magpies hold.
