Tony Scott has been speaking about the interesting decision Frank Lampard made during Everton’s recent win on the All Together Now podcast.

Everton have been going on a sort of resurgence at Goodison Park under Lampard and what it makes it seem even more impressive is that they’ve done so with their usually reliable goal scorer Dominic Calvert-Lewin who hasn’t scored since August.

Would you like to see Calvert-Lewin leave?

Calvert-Lewin has missed 23 games across all competitions through injury this season and considering he’s finished as the club’s top scorer over the last two seasons, it may be very little surprise that they have struggled to stay away from relegation without him.

However, Lampard doesn’t appear to be ager for the striker to get back out on the pitch as he was an unused substitute on the weekend, something Scott spoke about.

(17:46) “I’ll tell you what was very, very interesting to see Salomon Rondon come on the pitch for the remaining 10 or 15 minutes of the game towards the end to kill the game off and no, Dominic Calvert-Lewin.”

Which of these Serie A stars did the Toffees miss out on?

The England international has been linked with a move away this summer no matter what league Everton find themselves in with the likes of Arsenal and Newcastle United seeing their names attached to the striker, but they could very well be put off if they see he can’t even get minutes ahead of a 32-year old Rondon, who’s only scored one league all season.

It will be interesting to find out why Calver-Lewin wasn’t chosen to lead the line for the last few minutes against Chelsea because if it was down to an injury, then why was he on the bench in the first place, but if it wasn’t, then it will only raise more doubts over this Everton future.
