Manchester United look set to miss out on Champions League football next season, trailing Arsenal in the race for the top four by five points, with two more games played than the Gunners. So qualification is now certainly an uphill battle.

Next season will also see a new manager in the dugout as Erik ten Hag takes over at Old Trafford, with work behind the scenes already taking place to prepare for the new era at Manchester United.

Will Ten Hag be a success at Man United?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

David Ornstein recently broke the news that Matt Judge, head of corporate development and the man in charge of transfer and contract negotiations had resigned.

Sky Sports’ Joe Thomlinson reacted to the news, saying: “The gutting of that recruitment team over the last month has been crazy… Feels like anyone that has been heavily involved in transfers in the last decade has left. Wow.”

It certainly looks like Ten Hag will have his own men in place and will revolutionise the backroom staff at the club, something that needs to happen given the position of the club, looking to rebuild after a disastrous spell, by their standards.

So the Dutchman at Old Trafford can take parts from the Anfield blueprint and the fans will be hoping he can take the Red Devils on a similar revival to that of their arch rivals.
