Sky Sports presenter and Manchester United fan Joe Thomlinson has revealed he would like Hakim Ziyech to make a move to Old Trafford.

The Red Devils finished a lowly sixth in the Premier League this campaign – far from where they would have wanted to be. They need a lot of change this summer, and with new manager Erik Ten Hag surely looking to put his stamp on the squad, we can perhaps expect plenty of outgoings and arrivals at the 20-time English champions over the next few months.

Manchester United fans, do you remember how many points you picked up in seasons gone by? Let's find out, starting with 2020/21

As per Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are open to selling Ziyech during this transfer window, and Thomlinson would like to see United make a move for the £28.8m-valued 29-year-old. He wrote on Twitter: “Just me that would take him at United on the right?”

TIF Thoughts on Ziyech…

Following his form at Ajax, Ziyech was tipped for great things. He scored 49 goals and provided a huge 80 assists in 164 games for the Dutch outfit, and was a key player as the Amsterdam side reached the semi-finals of the Champions League in 2019.

However, while his time at Stamford Bridge has not been a disaster, he has not lived up to expectations. He has 14 goals and 10 assists in 84 matches since the switch, and has too often failed to make an impact. Strikes such as the one against Tottenham Hotspur this term showed a glimpse of his quality, but those moments have been few and far between.

While Chelsea selling to United would be a surprise and Ziyech clearly has talent, United need reliable players if they are to return to the top tier of European football and it is hard to see the winger heavily contributing to their revolution.
