Manchester United’s Ralf Rangnick has been getting people talking with his latest press conference where he was quizzed on the January transfer window at Manchester United.
He went on record to basically say that he had potential transfers for available players presented to the board only to be told that they were not going to be signing anyone.

With Champions League qualification far from easy, it’s surprising to see the board be so reluctant to try in the January window, despite Rangnick having to work with what was left by the previous manager.
Sky Sports man Joe Thomlinson shared the quotes on Twitter, having the following reaction to what was said: “This is honestly the most damning quote from Rangnick about United so far… Unbelievable.”

It certainly is unbelievable that the Manchester United board appeared to have written this season off as early as November, despite still having plenty to play for at the time.

Although it makes sense to not spend vast amounts when you know in the summer a new man will be in charge, Rangnick will be staying. He is carrying on as a football consultant so surely he will know the best players to sign for the future of the club if they have given him that role?
