Leeds United fans will love the latest picture to emerge of Kalvin Phillips outside of Elland Road on Wednesday night.

It was another sobering evening for Leeds yesterday as they fell to a third successive defeat at the hands of Chelsea.

The 3-0 defeat leaves the Whites languishing in 18th spot on goal difference and with a game less than Burnley left to play.

Despite the setback and the red card to Daniel James, which follows Luke Ayling’s suspension and Stuart Dallas’ long-term injury, hometown boy Phillips still took time to sign autographs and pose for pictures for over an hour and a half after the final whistle as pictured by Daily Mail reporter David Coverdale:

TIF Thoughts on Phillips and Leeds…

It was another damaging night for the Yorkshire club who are really and truly up against it now in their quest for survival.

To make matters worse relegation will most likely be compounded by the potential departures of star players Raphinha and Phillips.

Phillips is still under contract until 2024 with Leeds, but he has been linked with a move to rivals Manchester United as documented by The Athletic while Aston Villa previously considered frontrunners for his signature.

However, he is a Leeds boy and you would think that staving off relegation would only make the fondness grow stronger and the latest picture suggests that he is still fully committed to keeping his boyhood club in the division and perhaps pledging his future to Jesse Marsch’s side.
