Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara shared a video of the club’s open-top bus parade following the end of the campaign, with him showing his delight at the scenes.
While the Reds’ final game of the term ended in disappointment as they were defeated 1-0 by Real Madrid in the Champions League final, they still finished the campaign with two trophies. On Sunday, the players travelled through the city to show off their silverware, and thousands of supporters took to the streets to share their appreciation for the squad’s efforts.
Writing on Twitter, £19.8m-valued Thiago expressed his gratitude, writing alongside the video: “Speechless. What a club. What a city.”
TIF Thoughts on the parade…
Liverpool were so close to, yet ultimately so far from, winning the quadruple this term as they lost the Champions League final and finished one point behind Manchester City in the Premier League. Sometimes, only fine margins stand between greatness and relative success, which was the case for Jurgen Klopp’s men this season.

Still, winning two trophies is something to celebrate when you consider how many sides have not tasted silverware in recent years. The turnout for the parade was special and shows the support the fans have for their side. Next season, they could well have one of the two major trophies to celebrate.
