Who was sent off in his first game as captain?

Leeds secured top-tier survival with a 2-1 victory at the Brentford Community Stadium thanks to goals from the Brazilian and Jack Harrison. There were plenty of celebrations after the final whistle, but Raphinha’s was amongst the most bizarre. For some reason, the 25-year-old decided to travel the length of the pitch by crawling on his knees.

Writing on Twitter, Hay expressed his disbelief. He said: “This will need some explaining.”

TIF Thoughts on Raphinha…

Raphinha has consistently shown he has a special personality, whether it be his reaction towards being substituted or his crazy celebrations with supporters at Brentford at the weekend. There may be a simple explanation for why he chose to cross the field in such a way, but it so far remains a mystery.

Given the winger’s influence this campaign, however, he can pretty much do whatever he wants. His penalty gave Leeds the lead against the Bees, and his 11 goals in the Premier League this season made him the club’s highest goalscorer in the division. With Barcelona still reportedly interested in his services, it is unclear as to whether he will still be at Elland Road next season, but he will surely be wished well wherever he ends up after this term’s performances.
