Leeds United’s position is becoming ever more precarious, with Premier League survival now no longer in their own hands.
The Whites suffered a humbling at Elland Road on Saturday evening at the hands of table-topping Manchester City. It was always a tall order for Leeds to get something from the game, but another heavy defeat will be a worry.
Have you been impressed with Marsch?
It was a dominant performance from Pep Guardiola’s side who got off to a quick start when Rodri opened the scoring after 13 minutes. Nathan Ake and Gabriel Jesus added to the tally in the second half before Fernandinho rounded the performance off in stoppage time making it 4-0.
After the game though, Jesse Marsch was caught in high spirits rallying the supporters, with Men in Blazers sharing the footage on Twitter.
With four huge games remaining in the Whites’ season, it is apparent the American needs the Leeds fans on his side for the run-in with games against Arsenal and Chelsea next up in their battle against the drop.
TIF thoughts on footage…
It’s interesting to see a manager get so much support and react like that after a 4-0 loss at home, despite the gulf between the two sides. Leeds supporters will surely love the footage as it shows Marsch believes they will beat the drop and appeared to say the fans will be the reason why.
It’ll be refreshing to see that passion and connection between manager and supporters given the boots Marsch has to fill. Marcelo Bielsa will go down as a Leeds United ‘icon’ so to see the connection there already with the new manager will delight supporters.
