Leeds United are still embroiled in a ding dong relegation battle with Everton and Burnley in the Premier League, with two sides already down, one of those three will be dropping to the Championship.

Although Jesse Marsch still has work to do should he keep Leeds in the Premier League, plans are turning to next season depending on circumstances, with transfer targets being drawn up for another season in the Premier League.

Do you think Leeds will get relegated?

They will turn their attentions to a £20 million deal for Brennan Johnson should they beat the drop and Nottingham Forest fail to gain promotion.

Pete O’Rourke has been talking to GiveMeSport and has had the following to say on the potential deal: “I think he’s obviously somebody who is high up their list of targets right now. They have been keeping tabs on him for a number of months. As we’ve seen, Brennan Johnson’s had a great season for Nottingham Forest, not just in the league but also in their cup run against several Premier League teams, where he impressed as well. I think if Leeds do stay in the Premier League and Forest don’t go up, he’s definitely somebody they should maybe be considering to sign.”

TIF thoughts on the potential transfer…

He has 50 appearances under his belt this season for Forest at just 20 years of age, so to be such an integral member of the squad at such a young age shows just how good he is and can become. Johnson has also scored 16 times in those games, setting nine up for his teammates too.

And, he knows Daniel James very well from his time with Wales on the international stage, with the current Leeds man even being told to try and get him to Elland Road in the past.

Who was sent off in his first game as captain?

After taking over at Elland Road in February, the summer window will present Marsch with his first chance to put his stamp on the squad, bringing in players he wants and who he feels will fit into his footballing philosophy.
