Journalist Dean Jones has claimed that Leeds United may look to revisit Adama Traore ahead of the summer transfer window.

Adama Traore is reportedly on the radar of Leeds, but the Yorkshire club may face competition from fellow Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur, who have also shown long-term interest in him.

The Spanish winger has been on loan at Barcelona from Wolves in the second half of this season, but he has somewhat failed to impress. Traore has started just three times in La Liga since his January switch to the Camp Nou, and reports are stating that they will not be signing him on a permanent deal in the summer.

With the news that Leeds are interested in Traore, Jones highlighted to GiveMeSport that if they remain in the Premier League, then it could be a deal that happens in the summer.

“They love Traore and they’ve wanted to sign him for the past year. So if they stay in the Premier League, I would 100% expect them to at least visit the situation and find out what the terms are around it,” Jones said.

TIF Thoughts on Dean Jones’ comments…

Traore struggled for Wolves in the first half of the season, he featured 20 times in the Premier League, but just 10 of those were starts, and he contributed with one goal and zero assists, which consequently led to Bruno Lage opting to send him out on loan.

However, Jurgen Klopp was blown away with the attacker last season as he called him ‘undefendable’.

Leeds’s chance of signing the Spanish winger may decrease massively if they get relegated, so it is important for Jesse Marsch to ensure that they remain in the top flight, if he wants to have a chance at signing the pacey attacker.

Although Traore’s stats have been uninspiring, after he has scored just 11 goals in 154 Premier League appearances, if given a chance in a suited system to him, then he could become a real threat for Leeds.
