Phil Hay has revealed what interesting thing he saw Patrick Bamford do off the pitch during Leeds United’s midweek defeat.

Leeds United have had to make do without their main striker and talisman from last season with Patrick Bamford only being on the pitch for nine games this entire Premier League campaign, but he’s expected to be back in team training this week according to Hay.

Should Bamford play this weekend?

Bamford has had to deal with a few separate injuries this season and was even back out to help Leeds a few months ago but was seemingly rushed back too quickly as he limped off during the eventual win away to Wolves.

However, Hay has revealed on The Phil Hay Show what he saw Bamford do in the stands during Leeds’ latest defeat.

(50:14) “As I say, I did see him skipping up the steps to the gantry, which made me think in this sort of sad way that you read into this stuff, you don’t look in bad shape.”

This was a low point in Leeds United's history, but how many points did they get in the 2003/04 campaign?

The England international has obviously been a huge miss for Leeds this campaign as they’ve not been able to replace his 17 strikes from last season with Raphinah top of the charts with 10 goals, although only one has come in his last 11 matches.

Leeds have two massive games left to play this season as they look to secure their safety in the Premier League and if they want to give themselves the best chance possible of staying up, then Jesse Marsch will surely want and need Bamford out on the pitch as he offers them a focal point and the experience of playing in the team for years.
