Writer Simon Hart has revealed the profile of players that Frank Lampard wishes to sign for Everton this summer.

While Everton recently experienced problems complying with the rules of Financial Fair Play, they will have to spend this summer in order to improve a squad that only managed to avoid relegation by the skin of their teeth.

This will likely see some key players leave in order for the Toffees to hand Lampard a sizeable transfer budget that he can mould this team into his own, with the likes of Jordan Pickford and Dominic Calvert-Lewin already being tipped with summer departures.

It’s not just high-profile ones, as some big earners are set to leave as free agents, which will shave off £25m from the club’s wage bill and Hart has revealed what kind of player Lampard wants Everton to sign, writing: “The search will now begin for young, hungry players – and, as Lampard has avowed, players who are more robust.”

Lampard, who managed to bring through young players at Chelsea such as Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori, will likely be able to attract some top young talents having shown what he’s able to do with young stars during his time at Chelsea, and that could set Everton up very well for the future as they move away from older players such as Salomon Rondon, Fabian Delph and Andre Gomes.
