Everton defender Yerry Mina has thanked the club’s fans for their ‘amazing’ support after a good weekend for the Toffees.

Indeed, Frank Lampard’s men faced the daunting prospect of hosting Chelsea in the Premier League this weekend. With the teams at either end of the table, many may have expected an easy win for the away team.

However, Everton rallied to claim a vital three points in a 1-0 win thanks to Richarlison’s solitary strike. As a result, Lampard and co are now just two points from safety with a game in hand on Leeds United, who sit one place above them.

Mina managed to return from injury to play a key part in that win over Chelsea and fans may well be pleased to see him managing 90 minutes after missing so much of the season with fitness struggles.

He put in a pretty good display, too – with SofaScore giving the 27-year-old a match rating of 7.4 as he impressed in the middle of the Toffees defence.
