Everton forward Richarlison may have thrown a dog at the FA in an Instagram post as an investigation was opened after he was pictured with a flare during the Toffee’s crucial 1-0 victory.

Frank Lampard’s men are currently in the middle of a perilous relegation battle so their surprising cagey win against top-four hopefuls Chelsea gave them a much needed three points in their battle for Premier League survival. However, an incident during the game could give them cause for concern as one of their best players in Brazilian star Richarlison could face a three-match ban after he was caught with a flare after he scored the decisive goal.

Since the incident, the Brazilian forward has taken to Instagram to express his feelings about the investigation and the potential punishment from the FA, posting a picture of him with the flare with the caption of several emojis that indicates his joy at his actions.

TIF Thoughts on the incident…

Richarlison’s actions seemed to be in the heat of the moment as it was during his celebration of an incredibly important goal for his team’s survival chances. With that being said it was a stupid thing to do as he could now face a ban during the most integral period of their season, with games against Leicester City, Watford, Brentford, Crystal Palace, and Arsenal still to come.

The Toffees still occupy the last relegation spot and sit two points behind Leeds in 17th, while they have one game in hand over the Whites they still have a tough run-in of games and having all available players is going to be key for the team’s harmony and consistency for the rest of the season.

They need to have all hands on deck, especially a player who has nine goals and four assists in all competitions as well as averaging 2.2 shots, 0.9 key passes, 1,3 dribbles, 1.4 tackles, and 1.1 clearances per game. (Whoscored)
